Event Registration in Black Pug

Creating a Black Pug Account

Creating a user login is recommended if you plan to register for multiple events through Black Pug. With a user account, you can easily view your past registrations and download reports from previous events—all in one place for quick and convenient access.

Unit Rosters in Black Pug

Personal Roster – This allows parents to create and manage their own roster of frequently registered participants. It also allows leaders who do not have access to a unit roster to build and maintain their own roster for easy future registrations.

Council Roster – Your unit controller manages access to your unit roster. Once access is granted, your unit number will appear in the roster drop-down menu.

To use the Council Roster option, you must create and use your Black Pug account with the same email address you use for your My.Scouting account. This ensures your roster information links correctly.

Registering for an Event

Mid-Iowa Council events can be found in several places. On our council website, there are drop-down menus that break events into our program areas, training, and events. Camp programming registrations can also be found on our Mitigwa Scout Reservation website.

Paying using your Unit Deposit Account (UDA) Coming Soon!

Mid-Iowa Council units can set up a Unit Deposit Account (UDA) through Black Pug. A designated unit leader manages the account and can add individuals and assign access levels. This leader is also responsible for depositing and withdrawing funds from the account.

Approved users may use UDA funds to make payments for event registrations and campsite or building reservations within Black Pug.

Parent Portal

Registering as a unit or den is the preferred method for Cub Scout summer camp. This ensures that everyone in your unit is assigned to the same campsite. It also allows for a faster check-in process, as only one person needs to bring all registration information to the camp office while the rest of the unit can go directly to the campsite to begin setting up.

Unit registration is required for all BSA units attending camp, except for All-Star Scouts.

Units may provide parents access to their Scout’s individual registration through the Parent Portal. This allows parents to view their Scout’s information and make payments directly toward their Scout’s registration.

Scouting Event Reports

Once you register for an event, you may find helpful reports inside your registration. These reports are provided by the council and may vary from one event to another.
