Family Camping – Skills Camp

Purpose

The Mitigwa Family Camping Initiative is designed for families who are new to camping or want to sharpen their camping skills. Bring your own gear if you have it or rent ours. We will guide you in best location for camp set up, putting up tents and other important considerations for gear for sleeping and food prepartion. We will teach you outdoor cooking skills using a variety of cooking methods. 

Programs in a Box

During your free time, your family has the option to rent one of our Programs in a Box. Each box will contain all the information and material for the topic of choice. Some topics include: Habitat Exploration, Conservation, Scouting Skills, and fishing. 

What we will provide.

We will have staff and volunteers that are experts to teach and guide you through your weekend.

Package 1 – We Got It

This package is for you if you have all your own gear and are just coming for the instruction and education. 
Cost – $35

Package 2 – We Kind of Got It?

This package is for you if you have a tent and sleeping gear, but you need to rent cooking equipment for food preparation.
Cost – $75

3

Package 3 – We Need It All!

This package is for you if you just need everything! We will have tents, sleeping, and cooking gear ready for your arrival. The package provides 3 tents and gear for 6 people, additional tents are $10 per tent and $10 per person for additional sleeping gear.
Cost – $100
